It was really intimidating when I first started out and it was also very confusing because I didn’t really know where to begin. Follow Design Tutorials

You don’t really need to have a formal background on design but you definitely need to learn at least the basics or else nobody would buy your design. I followed every Photoshop tutorial on how to design website layouts and read a lot of design theory. At first it was really tough but I just finished one tutorial at a time and learned how to use Photoshop. I also analyzed why some layouts are more attractive than others.

Let’s Design

When you think that you’re ready and have done a number of tutorials, it’s time to begin on designing. I really love the clean look and feel of corporate company websites. Most of the time I don’t like to stare at a blank screen that’s why I would first draw some initial frame on a sketch pad just to get some ideas.

Convert Design into HTML

Take time to finish your draft and after that you should then cut out your design and convert it to HTML and CSS. Please use CSS when applying layout styles to your websites and don’t use the old-school table tags. Take time to inspect your finished website in some of the popular web browsers so you can fix layout issues.

Sell Your Template

Check around on other sellers on how much they charge and what features they have in their templates so you can set a good price. If you’re not good with SitePoint, you can just search the Internet for websites that will let you sell your templates.
